Account & personal data deletion
Last updated: 1 May 2026
This page describes how holders of a MyHomeTrack account (published on Google Play under the MyHomeTrack developer listing) can request deletion of their account and related personal information. Developer / product correspondence: contact@myhometrack.app.
How to request deletion of your account
Follow these steps so we can find and verify your account:
- Send an email to contact@myhometrack.app from an address you can receive replies on (or clearly state another way we can verify you—see verification below).
- Use the subject line: Account deletion — MyHomeTrack.
- In the message, include your full registered mobile phone number (the one used to sign in with OTP) and, if visible in the app, your display name. Mention that you use the MyHomeTrack app (the listing name shown on Google Play under our developer profile).
- State clearly that you want your MyHomeTrack account deleted and associated personal data erased (or narrowed) as described on this page.
- If you belong to construction projects shared with others, mention any project names you remember so we can process membership and attributable content appropriately.
We will confirm receipt where possible and may ask additional questions solely to verify identity and avoid deleting the wrong profile. Incomplete requests may delay processing until we can match your account securely.
What we delete after an approved account-deletion request
When verification succeeds and deletion is lawful to perform, we aim to delete or irreversibly anonymise:
- Your authenticated user identity in our systems (bindings between Firebase Authentication / OTP sign-in and your internal profile).
- Personal profile fields you supplied (such as display name) where stored against your account.
- Membership links between your account and projects, and device or push-notification tokens tied to your user.
- Project content attributable only to you where no other member has a continuing legitimate interest and no law obliges retention (examples can include drafts or materials not shared onward—actual scope depends on your usage).
What may be retained (and why)
Some information may remain for a limited time or indefinitely where the law requires or permits:
- Shared project ledger data.Financial records or files you added to projects with other collaborators may remain in forms needed for other participants' bookkeeping, contractual evidence, or tax compliance. Where feasible we remove direct personal identifiers and attribute entries to "former member" rather than your name or phone number.
- Backups. Residual fragments can persist in encrypted backups for typically up to 90 calendar days before ageing out during normal retention rotation—after which restores no longer expose deleted primary data.
- Security & legal. Minimal logs (for example timestamps, coarse IP-derived signals, hashed identifiers, or transactional audit trails) retained only as long needed to investigate abuse, meet court or regulator demands, defend legal claims, or satisfy accounting or taxation rules.
- Aggregates. Non-identifying statistics computed before deletion may be kept (for example total expense counts anonymised across all users).
Timelines
We ordinarily complete substantive deletion of primary account records within 30 calendar days after a verified request, unless complexity, backlog, or legal holds require longer notice to you. Backup retention is described above (typically up to ninety days beyond that for residual copies).
Deleting some data without closing your entire account
You may email contact@myhometrack.app describing specific categories or items you want removed (for example correcting profile fields, removing particular attachments, or limiting certain optional processing), without asking for full account closure, where feasible and consistent with other members' legitimate interests and applicable law. We will confirm whether we can comply and any trade-offs (such as diminished project history visibility). Self-serve granular deletion inside the apps may be expanded over time—today these requests are handled manually through the same inbox.
